Room 1

Immersive installation. A studio wall element, headphones, and written instructions.

The exhibition space was located beside large windows overlooking a parking lot, and to the right stood the Cave, creating a narrow passageway between the structure and the windows. This space functioned like a dead-end alley. The deeper one moved into the installation, the more intimate the experience became.

Written on the outside wall of the Cave was a collection of "not-instructions": a chair placed for sitting, paired with recorded ambient sounds from the space and an invitation to look out the window for as long as desired. The language played with irony—though described as "rooms for breathing," yet these spaces were in fact narrow and enclosed.

Room 2

Mixed-media installation. Photography, thread on shoes, and inscriptions.

Sectioned by curtains that, when moved, revealed a concealed area. A recurring element throughout the work—the stitched line—linked writing and making. As handwriting conveys personal character, so does a seam or thread. In this room, both were merged: shoes accompanied by a poem and a suspended image crafted from found yarn.

The entry into the Room 3 was narrow, and requiring visitors to turn sideways. This increased bodily awareness was heightened by a hanging mirror inscribed with a reflective message.

Room 3

Mixed-media installation. Found objects, four leaf clovers, and wall inscriptions.

The installation allowed space for viewers to discover their reflections within the objects, photography, and wall texts on display. Spontaneity, openness, and chance were core principles guiding the artist’s making process—evident in material sourcing, spatial composition, and throughout the contextual research.

Although aspects of Remains and Space In-between once felt disparate, they ultimately aligned when brought together within this installation.

The walls were blacked out at the back, creating a secluded atmosphere. Hidden automatic writings appeared only to those who entered, forming a deeply personal environment that communicated presence through absence.
