Cave (2022)

Mixed-media installation. A studio wall element, reclaimed fabric, and found objects.

This installation centers around a 220 cm tall, 38 cm wide, and 120 cm deep studio wall, covered in reused fabric. Originally part of the artist’s workspace, the structure evolved over time into a personal, cave-like enclosure — a site of making, storage, and reflection.

Treated with patience and care, the space embodied shifting states: fast and slow processes, restriction and expansion, accessibility and withdrawal. Found materials were stored within it, adding to its sense of layered intimacy.

When exhibited, the structure, referred to as Cave, was open for viewers to enter and experience.

TV in My Room (2023)

Audio-visual installation.

A projector installed inside the structure played a 10-minute looped video showing a single, muted view of a glass window, paired with ambient street sounds. Over this, excerpts of the wall writings were narrated.

Though there was no physical TV in the space where this work originated, the interplay of light, shadow, and environmental sound created a dreamlike, immersive atmosphere — a quiet form of escapism. During exhibition, the artist remained present within the space as the projection played, allowing visitors to encounter the work as both personal and shared.

New Cavern (2023)

Mixed-media installation. A studio wall element, reclaimed fabric, and pencil writings.

In a later phase, a second studio wall of similar dimensions was transformed using pressed black interfacing fabric. The dark, light-absorbing interior made any pencil marks invisible from within.

However, an internal monologue emerged on the external surface through automatic writing — a stream of hand-written text created in close proximity to the wall. This gesture transformed the surface into a projection space for thoughts, memory, and presence.

Deliberately free of punctuation or capitalisation, the text mirrored the inner dialogue's fluid, unfiltered nature. Written by hand, it conveyed a sense of intimacy, vulnerability, and embodiment.
